A 60-year-old woman with a rare inflammatory disease affecting her skin, joints, and lungs — which had not responded to several prior treatments — went into complete remission after starting upadacitinib, a targeted immune-blocking drug. When she developed weight gain and diabetes as side effects, tirzepatide was used to manage them. The case adds to early evidence that this class of drugs can work in difficult-to-treat forms of this condition, including those involving the lungs.
