Investigates bremelanotide's effects on glioblastoma (brain tumor) cells in vitro. Bremelanotide reduced survivin (an anti-apoptotic cancer protein) expression and induced cell death in glioblastoma cell lines, with effects enhanced in combination with chemotherapy. Represents a novel oncology application for melanocortin receptor agonism, distinct from its approved sexual function indication.
