Explores non-canonical roles of p53 and AKT signaling in medulloblastoma (pediatric brain cancer), finding thymosin β4 as a mediator. In medulloblastoma cells, p53 paradoxically promoted cell survival through Tβ4 upregulation; AKT showed context-dependent pro-death functions. Tβ4 knockdown sensitized medulloblastoma cells to apoptosis by reversing p53-mediated survival signaling. Identifies a novel p53-Tβ4 cancer survival axis in medulloblastoma—where Tβ4 converts a tumor suppressor signal into a survival cue.
