Tests whether the endocrine disruptor DEHP (di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate) promotes tumor growth through thymosin β4-mediated primary cilium (PC) disruption. DEHP reduced TB4 expression and impaired PC formation via increased H₂O₂ production. DEHP-treated tumor cells showed enhanced growth that was reversed by TB4 restoration or antioxidant treatment. Identifies a novel DEHP→oxidative stress→TB4 downregulation→PC loss→tumor growth pathway—linking environmental plastic chemical exposure to cancer promotion through TB4.
