Examines Selank's protective effects on colon tissue structure in chronically stressed rats. Restraint stress caused colonic atrophy, inflammation, and mast cell dysregulation alongside elevated corticosterone. Selank (80–750 μg/kg, i.p.) reduced corticosterone levels, protected colon wall morphology, and accelerated stress adaptation, demonstrating peripheral anti-stress benefits beyond the nervous system.
