Both Semax and the peptide deltalicin were tested in diabetic rats for their ability to correct abnormal blood fat levels. Both peptides improved the lipid profile — lowering total cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL while raising protective HDL — though deltalicin produced a stronger overall effect. These results suggest peptide-based drugs may offer a useful approach to managing lipid disorders in diabetes.
