This animal study demonstrated that MOTS-c produces pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects when administered intraperitoneally in the mouse formalin test. The antinociceptive effects were mediated through AMPK pathway activation, suggesting MOTS-c could have therapeutic potential for inflammatory pain conditions.
