Tests thymosin β4 for neurological recovery in aged (18-21 month) rats after embolic stroke—specifically addressing the clinical reality that stroke predominantly affects elderly patients. TB4 administered 24 hours post-embolism improved neurological outcomes in aged rats, demonstrating that TB4's neurorestorative effects are preserved in aging. This aged-rat validation is clinically significant given that prior stroke benefit was shown in young rats—confirming TB4's translational potential in the actual demographic of stroke patients.
