Tests Semax and Selank in a rat model of Parkinson's disease created by 6-OHDA injection (toxic dopamine neuron damage). Selank reduced anxiety in parkinsonian rats in the elevated plus maze without affecting motor activity. Semax improved exploratory behavior. Neither peptide restored dopaminergic function but both improved behavioral symptoms—suggesting potential as adjunct therapies for non-motor Parkinson's symptoms.
