Develops paramagnetic relaxation enhancement (PRE) NMR methodology for determining structures of actin-binding proteins including TB4 family members in complex with actin. Traditional X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM methods are inadequate for low-affinity or flexible actin-protein interactions like TB4; PRE-NMR provides structural mapping of transient and dynamic actin-binding interfaces. Establishes NMR-based structural tools for mapping TB4's binding interface on actin—advancing drug design capabilities for TB4-inspired actin-targeting therapeutics.
