This study demonstrated that BDNF signaling is involved in SS-31's protective effects against isoflurane-induced cognitive deficits in aging mice. SS-31 reversed mitochondrial dysfunction and upregulated the BDNF pathway, providing mechanistic insight into its neuroprotective action.
