Tests thymosin β4 for promoting remyelination in EAE (autoimmune MS model) and cuprizone (chemical demyelination) mouse models. TB4 enhanced oligodendrocyte progenitor cell (OPC) differentiation into mature myelinating oligodendrocytes, improved remyelination, and reduced neurological deficits in both models. The EGFR signaling pathway contributed to TB4's pro-oligodendrogenic effect. Establishes TB4 as a remyelination-promoting agent targeting OPCs—providing strong therapeutic rationale for TB4 in MS where remyelination failure causes permanent disability.
