Investigates thymosin β4's anti-neuroinflammatory mechanism in neonatal rat brains after hypoxia—relevant to neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain injury. TB4 treatment reduced hypoxia-induced microglial M1 activation, inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, TNF-α), and neural apoptosis. Mechanistically, TB4 upregulated miR-146a to suppress TLR4/NF-κB inflammatory signaling in microglia. Establishes a TB4→miR-146a→NF-κB anti-inflammatory axis in neonatal brain hypoxia—consistent with the diabetic neuropathy mechanism (PMID 30500399) and suggesting miR-146a is a conserved TB4-regulated neuroprotective microRNA.
