In rats subjected to acute or chronic electric shock stress, Semax normalized elevated fat breakdown products in the liver at certain doses, and consistently reduced a stress-induced spike in a liver injury marker in blood. Under chronic stress conditions, it also helped restore normal liver protein synthesis. The results show that Semax can partially protect liver function during repeated stress, with the most consistent benefits seen for chronic exposure.
