Uses transmission immunoelectron microscopy to map thymosin β4 at the ultrastructural level in HepG2 hepatocellular carcinoma cells, finding evidence of cytoplasmic-to-nuclear translocation under serum starvation stress. TB4 was normally cytoplasmic but redistributed to the nucleus under metabolic stress conditions. This ultrastructural hepatocyte study complements the Caco2 intestinal cell stress translocation data (PMID 35497634) and supports TB4's context-dependent nuclear functions as a transcriptional co-regulator during cellular stress responses.
