Evaluates serum thymosin β4 as a prognostic biomarker in acute-on-chronic liver failure (AoCLF), comparing its predictive power to standard Child-Pugh (CTP) and MELD scoring systems. AoCLF patients had significantly lower serum TB4 versus controls; lower TB4 correlated with higher mortality. TB4's prognostic accuracy was comparable to or complementary with CTP/MELD scores. Identifies serum TB4 as a novel non-invasive AoCLF prognostic marker—potentially improving risk stratification for liver transplant prioritization and ICU management of this high-mortality acute liver condition.
