Maps thymosin β4 and thymosin β10 immunoreactivity across the adult rat oro-gastro-intestinal tract, finding distinct expression patterns between the two family members. TB4 was expressed in tongue, esophagus, and gastrointestinal epithelium at variable levels; TB10 showed complementary patterns in salivary glands. Both peptides were present throughout the GI tract with tissue-specific distributions. Provides the first systematic immunohistochemical atlas of TB4 and TB10 in the mammalian digestive tract—relevant for understanding beta-thymosin roles in gut epithelial homeostasis, wound repair, and IBD pathology.
