Tests BPC 157 for abdominal aorta anastomosis in rats—specifically thrombus formation and lower limb function. After aortic transection and anastomosis, untreated rats developed a clot obstructing >1/3 of the aortic lumen with impaired walking and muscle weakness. BPC 157 given as an abdominal bath immediately after anastomosis prevented thrombus formation. Administered IV at 24 hours post-surgery (when clot was established), BPC 157 rapidly dissolved the obstructing clot and restored limb function within 3 minutes. Demonstrates both prophylactic and therapeutic anti-thrombotic activity in major vessel surgery.
