Evaluates Selank's antiviral activity against influenza A (H3N2) virus in cell culture and in mice. Selank completely suppressed viral replication in cells when given 24 hours before infection (preventive scheme) and improved animal survival in vivo. In vivo, Selank induced interferon-alpha gene expression without increasing pro-inflammatory cytokines—suggesting targeted antiviral immune activation.
