This clinical study investigated the neuroprotective mechanisms of Semax in acute ischemic stroke. Semax showed angioprotective, antihypoxic, and neurotrophic activity in experimental studies, and the clinical trial examined immunobiochemical mechanisms underlying its neuroprotective effects during the acute phase of stroke.
